Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Toff is a Chrome extension that helps insurance agents extract policy details from uploaded documents and fill ACORD forms or compare coverages. This privacy policy explains how Toff handles data.

No data collection.

Toff does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information or document content. All document processing — including text extraction, AI-powered field reading, and form generation — happens entirely on your device using local browser capabilities. No data is sent to any external server, API, or third party.

Local storage only.

Toff uses Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save your working session (extracted field values, agency/producer identity you enter, and basic UI state) so your progress survives reloading the panel. This data is stored on your device only, is never transmitted, and can be cleared at any time using the Clear Session button.

No accounts or authentication.

Toff does not require or support user accounts, logins, or registration of any kind.

No analytics or telemetry.

Toff does not include any analytics, tracking, crash reporting, or usage monitoring. There are no network calls made by the extension.

No remote code.

All code — including the PDF parser, OCR engine, and form-filling library — is bundled locally within the extension. No scripts are loaded from external sources.

On-device AI.

When available, Toff uses Chrome’s built-in on-device AI (Gemini Nano) for document reading. This AI runs locally on your device as part of Chrome itself; document content is not sent to Google or any cloud service for this processing.

Permissions used.

Toff requests two Chrome permissions: sidePanel (to display its interface as a side panel) and storage (to save session data locally). No other permissions are requested or used.
